BIOGRAPHY

Bob Kane has practiced employment law since 1972. He has handled many trials, including court and jury trials and trials before arbitrators and various administrative agencies. He has always tried all his cases solo, although until the last four years he has been with relatively large firms.

Bob has handled innumerable employment-related disputes during his career, including many wage and hour class actions and representative actions under PAGA. He has handled hundreds of mediations as an advocate.

Bob has also been an American Arbitration Association Employment Panel arbitrator since 2000. He has completed the Pepperdine University mediation courses, including Mediating The Litigated Case and How To Avoid Bad Settlements And Impasse. He is a member of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Mediation Panel.

Bob was a partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, resident in that Firm’s Los Angeles office, and a partner at Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth in Newport Beach, where he was a member of the executive committee and the board of directors, chair of the employment department and, for several years, chair of the litigation department. In 2013 Bob and eight other attorneys who had been at Stradling, founded the firm of Stuart Kane LLP.

He is a 1971 graduate of New York University School of Law, where he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Law Review.

Bob is available to mediate any employment-related cases, including, in particular, wage and hour class action cases and PAGA cases, discrimination, harassment and retaliation cases under California and federal civil rights laws, and public policy cases.
